Key Fixtures for 3rd XI
With two fixtures remaining, the 3rd XI is precariously placed in third bottom place in Division 6 of the East League. Fortunately, each of the remaining matches is against the clubs who are below Heriot's in the League. It is imperative that we win at least one of these matches if we are to avoid the drop into Division 7 next season.

Subscriptions
This year the Executive Committee will be taking a much tougher line with Playing Members whose subscriptions are in arrears. Any player whose subscription is outstanding from last year will not be selected for any match until last year's subscription has been paid.
As stated in President Chris Jones' pre-season letter, this season promises to be a financially demanding one and consequently prompt payment of subscriptions is now more important than ever.

Captains for the 2010 Season
Our good wishes go to the captains of our senior XIs for the coming season.
Steven Knox continues as 1st XI captain and will be looking forward to continuing the good form he has shown since joining the Club without having the added responsibility of Club Coach.
Steven Wallace has another stint as 2nd XI captain and will be hoping that Division 2 of the East League will make it easier for our younger players to contribute to a successful season.
Chaz Clark continues as 3rd XI captain and he too will be hoping that the standard of cricket in the lower Division will enable our Juniors to develop a winning habit and through their performances merit promotion to the higher teams.

Reconstruction of the Scottish National Cricket League
Following consultation meetings, changes have been made to the original proposals for the reconstruction of the National League.
The top six clubs in the First Division at the end of the 2010 season will join the ten teams in the Premier League to form what will be the Premiership league of sixteen clubs in 2011.
These arrangements should present the Club with an excellent chance of returning to the top league in Scotland in 2011.

School Sports Hall
It was good to read in the latest edition of Quadrangle, the School's Development Office Newsletter, that work has started on the new Sports Hall.
When completed, the new Sports Hall will not only provide opportunities for more indoor cricket coaching for School pupils, but should also provide a suitable venue for coaching the Club's Junior cricketers.
